Stanko Simić



He completed his undergraduate studies in composition (class of Vlastimir Trajković) and master's studies (class of Zoran Erić) at FMU in Belgrade (2015). At the same time, he completed his master's studies in piano in the class of Lidija Stanković (2011), when he was declared the student with the best results in the main subject - Piano (2010), and a few years later he became the winner of the award from the Josip Slavenski Fund, Department of Composition for the work Waves (2013). In the past years, he participated in seminars with eminent composers such as Luca Francesconi, Larry Alan Smith, Rokus de Groot, Niels Henrik Asheim, Clemens Gadenstätter and Jan Robben. He was a finalist at the Krzysztof Penderecki - Arboretum (Poland, 2012) and Città di Udine (Italy, 2014) composition competitions, as well as a participant of the isaMasterClass master class (Austria, 2015). His works have been performed by numerous orchestras and soloists, among which SO RTS and Bojan Suđić, Ensemble Metamorfozis, Strings of St. George, Piano Duo Bizjak, Trio Singidunum, Novi Sad Wind Quintet, Aratos Trio, VooDoo Duo and others. He is the co-author of the project of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts "Digitalization of the complete piano music of Vasilije Mokranjac" and actively performs piano music by mostly local authors. He is noted as a music editor and editor of several published music publications. For four years he was the organizer and manager of the Festival of Composition Students (KoMA) and on several occasions he accepted the role of producer in the projects of pianist Vladimir Gligorić (studio recording of piano works by V. Mokranjac, J. Slavenski, V. Trajković, I. Žebeljan, S. Maksimović). In 2023, he received his doctorate in composition (class of Zoran Erić) and is currently employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Composition at the FMU in Belgrade.
