Propositions - Piano solo

Pre-Category

Contestants born 2015. and younger. The duration of the programme is up to 5 minutes.

THE PROGRAM:

1. Two or more compositions of the contestant’s choice

 

I category:

Contestants born 2013. and younger. The duration of the programme is up to 8 minutes.

THE PROGRAM:

  1. The first movement from a Sonatina or a Sonata, or Variations
  2. One or more compositions of the contestant’s choice

 

II category:

Contestants born 2011. and younger. Performance duration up to 12 minutes.

THE PROGRAM:

  1. One musical composition from the Baroque period
  2. The first movement from a Sonatina or a Sonata, or Variations
  3. Free to choose one or more pieces

 

III category:

Contestants born 2009. and younger.

THE PROGRAM:

First round: performance duration up to 10 minutes.

  1. One virtuoso etude
  2. One movement of the Sonata as a sonata form, or Variations as an independent work (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi)

Second round: performance duration up to 15 minutes

  1. One musical composition from the Baroque period
  2. One or more musical compositions from the Romantic period
  3. One or more music pieces from a Serbian author
  4. Candidates have the opportunity to perform a work from the period of the 20th century, of their choice, within the stipulated minutes, in addition to the obligatory part of the II stage program

 

IV category:

Contestants born 2007. and younger

THE PROGRAM:

First round: performance duration up to 15 minutes

  1. One virtuoso etude
  2. One movement of the Sonata as a sonata form, or Variations as an independent work (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi)

Second round: performance duration up to 20 minutes

  1. One musical composition from the Baroque period
  2. One or more musical compositions from the Romantic period
  3. One or more music pieces from a Serbian author
  4. Candidates have the opportunity to perform a work from the period of the 20th century, of their choice, within the stipulated minutes, in addition to the obligatory part of the II stage program.

 

V category:

Contestants born 2005. and younger.

THE PROGRAM:

First round: performance duration up to 20 minutes

  1. One virtuoso etude
  2. One movement of the Sonata as a sonata form, or Variations as an independent work (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi, or the first movement of the Sonata from the Romantic period)
  3. If the candidate performs a sonata form from the Romantic period, they are obliged to perform a composition from the Classical period instead of compositions from the Romantic period in the II stage

Second round: performance duration up to 25 minutes

  1. A music piece from the Baroque period
  2. One or more musical compositions from the Romantic period
  3. One or more pieces from a Serbian author
  4. Candidates have the opportunity to perform a work from the period of the 20th century, of their choice, within the stipulated minutes, in addition to the obligatory part of the II stage program.

 

VI category:

Contestants born 2002. and younger

THE PROGRAM:

First round: performance duration up to 30 minutes

  1. One virtuoso etude
  2. Sonata or Variations (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi, or a Sonata from the Romantic period)
  3. If the candidate performs a sonata form from the Romantic period, they are obliged to perform a composition from the Classical period instead of compositions from the Romantic period in the II stage

Second round: performance duration up to 25 minutes

  1. A music piece from the Baroque period
  2. One or more musical compositions from the Romantic period
  3. One or more pieces from a Serbian author
  4. Candidates have the opportunity to perform a work from the period of the 20th century, of their choice, within the stipulated minutes, in addition to the obligatory part of the II stage program.

 

Notice:

In all categories, music pieces must be played from memory.

The programme from the first round is not permitted to be repeated in the second round.

The order of the music pieces and the playing of repetitions is decided by the contestant.

There is no lower limit for the duration of the programme in the first round of the III, IV, V, and VI categories.

 

The jury will award a Special Prize for the best performance of a work by a Serbian composer in each discipline. Candidates in the Pre-category, I, and II categories can perform a composition of Serbian authors as a composition of their choice. This gives them the opportunity to win the Special Award for the best performance of a work by a Serbian composer.

 

SUPER FINALE

The competition part THE SUPER FINALE (for for two-stage categories - III, IV, V, and VI) is not mandatory.

The contestants will keep the prizes they have won in their FINAL ROUNDS, irrespective of their scores in THE SUPER FINALE.

The contestants can qualify for THE SUPER FINALE if they opt for the SUPER FINALE in their application forms. 

At the decision of the jury, a maximum of six contestants can be placed in the SUPER FINALE.

The expert jury will determine the SUPER FINALISTS from the participants who won the first prize in the second stage (not necessarily according to the number of points won).

  • W. A. Mozart: Concerto for piano and orchestra in A major KV 414
  • W. A. Mozart: Concerto for piano and orchestra in A major KV 488
  • W. A. Mozart: Concerto for piano and orchestra in D minor KV 466
  • L. van Beethoven: Concerto for piano and orchestra in C major op. 15
  • L. van Beethoven: Concerto for piano and orchestra in C minor op. 37
  • E. Grieg: Concerto for piano and orchestra in A minor op. 16
  • C. Saint-SaënsConcerto for piano and orchestra in g minor No.2 op.22

The concertos will be performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense “Stanislav Binički” accompanying the piano soloist.

 

PRIZES:

1. In THE SUPER FINALE, the jury will choose one winner, to whom the following will be awarded:

- THE SUPER FINALE Absolute winner certificate

 

2. The jury declares one participant from the pre-category, category I, II, or III as the Laureate of the yuonger categories of the piano discipline, who is awarded:

- cash prize

- Diploma laureate of younger categories

 

3. The jury declares one participant from the IV, V, and VI categories as the Laureate of the older categories of the piano discipline, who is awarded:

- cash prize

- Diploma laureate of older categories

4. SPECIAL AWARD FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF A WORK BY A SERBIAN COMPOSER, to a candidate from any category, who, in the opinion of the expert jury, performed the composition of a Serbian author the best at the competition and who is awarded:

- cash prize

- Diploma -  Special award for the best performance of a Serbian composer

 

5. AUDIENCE AWARD, to the competitor who performed in the Super Final and received the highest number of votes from the audience after the voting, who is awarded:

- cash prize

- diploma AUDIENCE AWARD
